America has talent -- and Simon Cowell is determined to find it. Each of the contestants, chosen at casting calls around the nation, will have a chance to prove that they have talent in front of judges and America. The winner, chosen by viewers, will receive the opportunity to headline a showcase Las Vegas act.
At the end of tonight's season finale of America's Got Talent it was announced that the competition series will be staying on the air for at least another year. New host Tyra Banks confirmed that the show will be returning next summer for a 13th season to continue its impressively-long run on the network.
On the air since 2006, America's Got Talent has maintained its position as the summer's top-rated series year after year, regularly besting its time slot competition. Banks was brought on as host this season to replace the departing Nick Cannon, who hosted the show for eight seasons.
While no formal announcement on the judges was made, it's likely that all four current judges - Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Mel B - will be back for Season 13.
